Sunderland Clarion....
..is the oldest cycling club in the Sunderland area with its roots going back into the late 1800's when it was formed as a section of the National Clarion Cycling Club.
The club has a long tradition of both sport and leisure cycling which continues today with members competing in both road racing and time trials. Club members are mainly road cyclists although some of us do some off road riding too.
If you are a cyclist in the Sunderland area and want to get fit, lose weight, want race, or just want to ride your bike in good company, then why not come along to one of our meetings?. They are usually held on the first Wednesday, 8pm at Sunderland College Hylton Campus, North Hylton Road, Sunderland, SR5 5DB
Contact Allan Smith on 0191 5848948 or email info@sunderlandclarion.org.uk for more details.
Club Runs
Club runs usually average a leisurely pace of approx 15mph where everyone waits for each other, usually at the tops of hills and nobody get dropped.
The training runs, which start at Shiney Row and are decided ad hoc, average around 19-20mph and are intended to simulate close to race conditions. All are welcome on both runs but if you get dropped on the training run then don't expect anyone to wait.
Where are we going on Sunday then?
