Every year a group head for the hills. Marvel at the photos here.

The Club

Our club is the oldest cycling club in the Sunderland area with roots going back into the late 1800's when we formed a section of the National Clarion Cycling Club. We now have 60+ regularly active club riders and are continuing to grow.
We have a long and successful tradition of sport and leisure cycling - both of which we continue today with members competing in both road/crit racing and time trials. We are predominantly a road cycling club - but many of us head off-road for leisure and racing.
New members are always welcome - please have a look at our Club Runs and Training pages. Our Facebook page is always a good place to catch up with the latest gossip and keep up to date withtraining, club runs and events. Come along to a club run, all abilities are welcome.

Bank Holiday Weekend.

If you're looking to get out on a social run this Bank Holiday check out our Facebook page to find out who's doing what and when.

All welcome.

Club Training Session - Wednesday 8th April, 6:45pm

Meeting point: B&Q Car park, Ryhope

This is a training ride so expect a good workout. Groups of various speeds form depending on who is out. All are welcome so don't be afraid of coming along to meet club members and give it a go. We meet at 6:45pm for a 7pm start.

Please note we will continue to hold the session at Ryhope for the foreseeable future rather than switch to our summer venue. This is due to safety considerations and the flexibility the Ryhope course offers.

Club Reliability Ride (78mls) - 22nd March, 2015

The club's reliability ride returns to an early season position. The ride started in Middleton-in-Teesdale.

Eight riders took part, an opportunity for riders to test themselves and their bikes on a challenging course.

This year the social ride took place in the Northern Pennines, starting in Middleton in Teesdale, before heading across to Cumbria through Brough, and taking in Hartside. Partaking in the challenge were Charlie Monchatre, Lewis McEvoy, Allan Smith, Peter Baggaley, John Scott, Steve Kerr, Steve Smithson and Norman Grotz. Despite some strong winds all had a great day out.

Newcastle to London in 24 Hours

Some of you may be aware that Charlie Monchatre signed up to take part in the ride24 Newcastle to London challenge in August 2015. The aim is to cycle the 300 mile course in 24 hours.

He is raising money for Marie Curie in memory of his uncle Mick who passed away on the 5th November 2013 after a long battle with cancer. His remaining days were spent at The Marie Curie Hospice in Newcastle where he received exceptional care and they provided the family with much needed support through this difficult time.

You can donate to this excellent cause by sponsoring Charlie through the just giving web page at

Thanks for any help you can give.
