Britain’s highest pub played host to some of the regions top cyclists as they caught their breathe after Stockton Wheelers’ hill climb up Tan Hill. The course which was much longer than the typical hill climb at just over 10 miles in length, saw riders start in Reeth and tackle the full climb to the top. Amongst those in the field were Sunderland Clarion’s Steve Gordon and Ingrid Shepherd.

It was a good day out for the Clarion duo with both showing the good form they’ve had throughout the hill climb season. Gordon clocked a 38:10, enough to take seventh overall and second prize in the V40 category. While Shepherd came in with a time of 41:37, which was enough for her to take the victory in the ladies competition. The overall was won by former Stockton Wheelers rider Josh Teasdale (In-Gear Quickvit), ahead of former Clarion rider Ian Taylor(

Sunday sees riders take on Quarrington Hill in the Houghton CC Hill Climb which will be Ingrid and Steve's last tune up before the National Hill Climb on the 26th.
